Spain and Ecuador has no record of ever meeting before this match.
Ecuador that placed second to Nigeria in group A lost to Nigeria 4-0; beat New Zealand 4-0 and drew 2-2 with hosts Dominican Republic.
Spain a former champion had beaten Nigeria’s conqueror, USA 3-1; spanked South Korea 5-0 and piped Columbia 2-1. Now with 15 goals scored in four matches and 2 goals conceded, Spain looks good for the trophy again.
Earlier on Sunday morning, North Korea had beaten Poland by a lone goal scored by Rim-jong Choe in the 14th minute from an assist by Il-Chong Jon Rim-jong had scored a hat-trick against Mexico on 17th October which makes her goal haul 4 to equal Nigeria’s Shakirat Moshood.
