Debutante hosts, Dominican Republic U17 girls were early Thursday morning pushed to the exit door in a group A game with a 2-0 win from Ecuador in a match played at the Estadio Cibao FC, Santiago de Los Cabalferos.
Star Attacker, Jaslyn Valverdo’s brace (scoring two goals in a match) at the 14th and 29th minutes under Ref Abigail Bryane of England before a crowd of 3,006 fans registered the way to the exit door for Dominic Republic.

Dominic Republic will play New Zealand on Saturday at midnight next and a loss will make their 3rd game against Nigeria a mere formality. Nigeria will at 2100 that Saturday square up with Ecuador in a group top place decider.
La Tri of Ecuador has never had a podium finish in her 6 appearances at the tournament but made the quarterfinal when she hosted in 1995 and at Chile 2010.
Nigeria tops Group A with 3 points scoring 4 goals and conceding 1 goal; Ecuador is 2nd with 3 points scoring 2 goals and having a clean slate (not conceding a goal in a match); Dominican Republic is 3rd with no point conceding 2 goals and -2 goals difference leaving New Zealand at the bottom also with no point and -3 goals difference.

In Group B, South Korea and Columbia settled for 1-1 draw after Spain had beaten USA 3-1. That makes Spain to top Group B with 3 points scoring 3 goals and conceding 1; Columbia is 2n with 1 point as South Korea which is 3rd also has a point while USA needs to upgrade lying at the bottom with no poit.
At 2100 hours of Thursday, North Korea will play Mexico in group C and Japan will face Poland in group D.
