Three years after a set of award winners won its yearly media award, the organisers of the annual media award, The Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA), is yet to pay the winners the money accompanying the award.
Newdawnngr learnt that they, especially the winners, have been on daggers drawn with the organisers since then. The issue, we learnt had reached a level that some of the winners had resorted to exchanging hot correspondent with the management of NMMA and threat to take the issue to the market place of idea or to Court.
It was at this level that the accountant of NMMA responded with following letter to the winners punished below unedited.

” Dear NMMA 2019 Winner,
Compliments of the New Year to you and all yours.
We hereby reconfirm that your outstanding cheque has been ready for collection over the past 5 months. However, following the provision on New Cheque Standards and numbering for intra-bank cheque payments, your cheque can only be paid into a Keystone Bank Account.
If you do not have an account with the bank, you may easily open a savings / current account to cash your cheque through. Re-issuing the cheque may take additional processing time and protocols. Kindly indicate your decision soon as possible before the cheque lapses for presentation with attendant re-issuing constraints.
We count on your understanding and timely response.
With kind regards,
