Unpaid 2019 NMMA Award prize: Organisers cite banking logistics as cause of delay

The Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA), organisers have reiterated its long held policy of not discussing the issues pertaining to award entrants, nominees and winners with third party.
This is as the media body also cited individual banking procedure and issue as reasons why some recipients are yet to receive their monetery prize.
This was the reply Newdawnngr got when it’s reporter sort to know why the award organisers have not been paid it’s 2019 winners the N100,000 that came with the award.

In an unassigned reply sent to our correspondent, NMMA said, “Thanks for yours sir.

As a rule, we do not discuss issues of Award Entrants, Nominees and Winners with third parties.
However, out of respect for you, we hereby provide a general information.
All Winners have been paid through their cheques over the years and upto 2021.
Anyone with individual issue on the cheque issued has been advised on options open, in line with standard banking regulations, which we abide with. Thank you,” the release said.
