Election Tribunal: Abiodun floors Akinlade

The election Petitions Tribunal headed by Justice Yusuf Halilu upheld the election of Prince Dapo Abiodun of All Progressives Congress (APC), as the governor of Ogun State and dismissed the Petitions of Allied People’s Movement (APM) in its entirety.

The 3 member tribunal started the judgement around 10:07am on Saturday and ended the ruling around 3:50 pm by dismissing all the Petitions against Abiọdun.

Abiodun defeated Akinlade of Allied people’s movement (APM) with 241,670 votes, while Adekunle Akinlade, the former Governor Amosun favourite who was Abiodun’s close rival scored 222,153 votes in the last general election.

African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 110,422 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, Buruji Kashamu got 70,290 votes.
