The All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat on Acme road, Ogba, Lagos State has continued to bubble with activities ahead of the primary elections into various offices.
A visit to the party secretariat today captured the atmosphere indicating all is almost set for the contest.
Guests were seen at the reception who had come for various information and possibly contracts.
An interior decorator and event manager who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that she had come to try if any job can be available for her ahead of the party primary.
“I am an interior decorator and I have handled a lot of jobs. I am also a party faithful so if such jobs are available I am among the people to be considered. A lot of things would be needed that day and thousands of delegates need to be catered for,” she said, adding that, “We are in a democracy, unlike the military regime when we couldn’t get jobs easily because the officers used to know who to get the jobs. But in APC, if you are competent and connected through your constituency, you can be fortunate.”

Meanwhile, the leaders of the party have stated that no aspirant has been adopted for any position as the primary election will hold as scheduled.
According to the timetable, the Presidential primary election holds on 25th September while the governorship primary holds on 29th September.
Primary election for the Senate positions is scheduled for the 2nd of October while on the 3rd, the House of Representatives aspirants would contest. Then on the 4th of October will be the turn of aspirants contesting for tickets into the State House of Assembly election, while the National Convention for the Presidential slot holds on the 6th of October.
Elders of the party had earlier spoken through their Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria recently.
According to him, the party would not have needed to trouble itself over any primary if it had adopted anointed candidates.
‘If we are still going to hold our primary, why then should we adopt, or does the adoption cancel the primary? He asked.
Continuing, he said, “This is the political season; many interesting things happen, but I can tell you most of the things that have been reported on the matter are mere speculations and not facts. Nobody has directed any adoption.”
