Supporters fill stadium as ruling party begins nationwide mobilisation for president’s re-election bid
Kaduna,the political capital of Northern Nigeria today played host to The All Progressives Congress (APC) elected governors and other leaders from across the country as the party commenced its campaign activities for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The rally, holding at Ranchers Bees Stadium, popularly known as Kaduna Township Stadium, has attracted supporters and party groups from different parts of the country ahead of Tinubu’s arrival.
Reports from the venue indicated that supporters began arriving early on Saturday, with some spending the night around the stadium to secure access to the event.
The gathering marks the start of the ruling party’s nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The rally is bringing together APC governors, members of the National Assembly, party leaders and supporters from across the federation.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, had earlier announced that the campaign would begin in Kaduna on October 24, following the inauguration of the campaign council in Abuja.
The party’s proposed nationwide timetable includes rallies in several states, with President Tinubu expected to attend events in selected locations.
Kaduna’s selection as the launch venue has been described by presidential aide Abdulaziz Abdulaziz as a deliberate recognition of Northern Nigeria’s importance to the President’s re-election campaign.
He said the choice also reflected Tinubu’s appreciation of the support he received from the North during the 2023 presidential election.
Security tightened around venue
Security personnel have been deployed around strategic locations in Kaduna metropolis, while access roads leading to the stadium have been restricted to manage traffic and the movement of participants.
The stadium has been decorated with APC flags, campaign banners and images of Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
The campaign launch comes amid heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 elections, as parties prepare to mobilise supporters and consolidate their political structures.
Tinubu’s address is expected to set the tone for the APC’s campaign messaging and its appeal to voters for another four-year term.
