Traders in the outskirts of Lagos State have bared their minds about the Nigerian economy under the Buhari-led administration.
Justine Alajemba is one business man who complained the hike in prices of items in the last three years in Nigeria.
“The primary election ahead of the 2019 polls has not been held, so we don’t really know the candidate for now, but the performance of President Buhari is poor and many people are suffering in Nigeria,” he said.
Alajemba who trades in groceries added that, “The economy is worse than before. Buhari has used military power instead of democratic means, hasn’t provided infrastructure. The only way APC government can win 2019 election is by rigging, but on normal voting, Buhari can never win the 2019 election.”

Lamenting his plight further, the business man said, prices of goods rose and businesses have become dull. “Look at my business, the money you used to buy two items before, you use it to buy only one item now, it is not helping my business, I don’t see anything coming out of Buhari’s government, it has not made any good impact on my business,” he said.
Preferring the youths to take over the government, the businessman said, “I support youth’s right to rule. From time, the old men that have been ruling Nigeria up to 40 years now and are still ruling. I have been hearing, Obi is a boy, I have not seen Obi become a man. Look at Obasanjo when he took over as military leader around age 30 and how positively he ruled Nigeria then. We want youths to rule because we are in a computerised world, we have many things to be improved upon since we are in the modern world.
“I support youths to take over this country, because the old people have failed us, our politicians don’t want to hand the seat to the youths, look at advanced countries. I support the youths to take over this country,” he said.
Advising the next sets of leaders in Nigeria, he said, “The next President has to stand on his ground and first and foremost remove all those cabals, we need fresh brains to rule Nigeria.”
