The latest figure marks an increase from the N354.5 million reported on October 20, when the film ranked as the third-highest grossing Nollywood title of 2026.

Agbára Nlá: The Return opened in Nigerian cinemas on October 1, following preview screenings that generated more than N71 million, attracting 12,134 admissions, according to reports by the film’s distributor and Nigerian box office tracking data.

It went on to earn approximately N170.6 million from its previews and opening weekend, recording one of the strongest openings for a Nollywood film outside the December festive season.

Directed by Damilola Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye, popularly known as Jay Mikee, the film is a remake of the Christian classic created by their father, filmmaker Mike Bamiloye, in 1993.

The original production became a notable title in Nigeria’s Christian film industry, with its English language adaptation released as The Ultimate Power in 1994.

The new version follows the story of Muwonleru, a village controlled by Isawuru, a powerful herbalist. When two believers, Olaboye and Olatomi, respond to a call to take the Gospel to the community, they face opposition as they attempt to challenge his influence.

Mike Bamiloye reprises his role as Isawuru in the new production, which also features Aanu Abiodun, Philip Olubakin, Remilekun Mosiko, Gloria Mike Bamiloye and David Kola Okeowo.

The film was produced by Chris Odeh, with Mount Zion Film Productions, Sozo Films and Circuits involved in the production. Nile Entertainment handles its theatrical distribution.

The film has also secured an international cinema release, with reports confirming screenings in the United Kingdom and Canada. It continues to show in cinemas across Nigeria.
