A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Sanusi Dankaka at Kuje Correctional Centre for allegedly threatening to publish nude photographs and videos of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf on Facebook.
Justice Salim Ibrahim gave the order on Monday after Mr Dankaka was arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS) on two counts of cybercrime.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the DSS filed the case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/699/2026, on October 22.News Updates
The prosecution alleged that Dankaka and others still at large committed the offences in October 2026 in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In the first count, the DSS accused him of using a Facebook account named Sanusi Dankaka Yahaya to claim possession of nude photographs and videos of the governor and threatening to release them to the public.
The agency said the claim was false and alleged that the defendant intended to cause annoyance, inconvenience, insult and injury to the governor.
The prosecution said the alleged offences contravened provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, as amended.Buy Maps
During Monday’s proceedings, DSS lawyer Yusuf Afegbua told the court that the prosecution was ready for the arraignment.
