Bamanga Tukur dies @90
Elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, is dead.
His death was announced this Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026, by the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Bamanga Tukur was the first Civilian Governor of the defunct Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The renowned international businessman died at the age of 90.

“Alhaji Tukur, an elder statesman, accomplished businessman and distinguished politician, passed away on Saturday after a brief illness,” Governor Fintiri said in a statement signed by his Press secretary,Humwashi Wonosikou.
