NSUK Students Regain Freedom as Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers allegedly linked to the abduction of students of the Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University (NSUK), Gudi Campus, as the victims regained their freedom.

 

The Command disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, who said the suspects were apprehended following sustained intelligence-led operations and coordinated tactical efforts by police operatives.

 

According to the statement, the suspects identified as Abdullahi Yeyi Haro, believed to be the leader of the kidnapping syndicate, and Basiru Abdullahi, both residents of Gudi community, were arrested in connection with the crime.

 

The police confirmed that the abducted students have been safely released and reunited with their families after days in captivity. The victims are currently receiving medical attention and psychological support following their ordeal.

 

Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the operatives involved in the operation for their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to intensify efforts against kidnapping and other violent crimes in Nasarawa State, assuring residents that investigations are ongoing to track down and arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate.

 

The Police Command also appreciated members of the public for their cooperation and timely information, which it said played a vital role in the successful rescue operation and arrest of the suspects.

 

Residents were further urged to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with credible information capable of enhancing security across the state.
