Chairman of Ijebu East local government, Honourable Wale Adedayo has described his suspension by seven councilors in his council as diversionary.
In an interview on Television Continental yesterday, he said that the aim of those who instigated the suspension is to make him back down from his agitation.
According to him, when the chairmen of councils met the governor the demanded that the state should revert to the established system of disbursement of local government fund from the Federation account.
On allegations of financial impropriety against him by the council,he said he has already briefed his lawyers adding,”I am not afraid of such things.it is to make me back up from the agitation.
He maintained that since 2021 none of the councils had collected any money rather than payment of salaries.
“Local government fund is not meant for salaries alone but for development of those who elected us into power”he declared.
Speaking further,he described those who alleged of his sponsorship by former governor Gbenga Daniel and Senator Olamilekan Adeola as lies adding,”I am not a baby that somebody can use or push arround.”
It will be recalled that Honorable Adedayo last week wrote a letter to a former state governor, Olusegun Osoba to call Governor Dapo Abiodun to order following his seizure of local government funds paid by the federal government to State /Local government joint account.
