Barely twenty four hours after the renewal of his mandate for four more years,Lagos state governor,Babajide Sanwoolu has increased salary of mainstream civil servants,local government employees others by twenty percent.
The increase is to take effect from January this year.
He also directed that the workers be paid their arrears from January this year.
In other words arrears for January are to be paid with March salaries while that of march are to be paid with April salaries.
The news of the salary increase was broken by the Head of Service,Hakeem Muri Okunola in a memo he released Monday March 20.

He said the salary increase is a demonstration of the commitment of the government to improve staff welfare.
