President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the embattled Accountant General of the Federation, Ahme Idris be replaced with Mr. Anamekwe Chukwunyere Nwabuoku.
N80b fraud allegation:Finance minister suspends Accountant General
Nwabuoku is to oversee the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, pending the outcome of the investigations being conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations of money laundering to the tune of N80bn leveled against him.
Idris was arrested in Kano last week by operatives of the EFCC and was immediately whisked to Abuja.
The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed had announced Idris’ suspension pending the determination of the allegations against him.
