The embattled Accountant General of the Federation Ahmed Idris has been suspended by the Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed.

A statement by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Tanko Abdullahi confirmed the suspension.
He explained that the suspension was to enable unhindered investigations into the fraud allegations.
Recall that Idris was arrested at the weekend in Kano by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
