The Christain Association of Nigeria,CAN has asked it’s members all over the country to stage a peaceful protest against the killings of christains.
Moslem youths protest arrest of Deborah’s killers
The directive for the protest according to a statement by its General Secretary,Joseph Bade Daramola, and directed to All State and Zonal Chairman and all Church leaders, was authorized by its President, Rev Dr Samson Ayokunle.
He said the protest should take place by 3pm in all the secretariat of the CAN all over Nigeria adding that the protest should not extend to the streets.
Explaining the reasons for the restriction,the statement said this is to avoid further loss of lives.
Deborah’s killing: Bring murderers to book – British envoy
The protesters were to carry placard which read, We Demand Justice for Deborah,No more killings in God’s name,Enough is Enough and Police should stop Unprovoked Killings in Nigeria etc.
Furthermore,the CAN urged all the Churches who could afford to give the message publicity in the traditional media while those who could not afford to employ social media to give the protest wide publicity.
