Oba Ogunleye marks 17 years on the throne

Akinale, the Owu legendary war post in the pre and during colonial struggle for the survival of Abeokuta, was agog Sunday October 31, 2021 as the traditional ruler in situ, Oba Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye, clocked 17 years on the throne.
Oba Ogunleye, a great grandson of Akanni Lapeleke, founder of Akinale and Lapeleke villages in now Ewekoro Local Government, was installed as the 15th Baale of Akinale in October 2004, was transformed into the first king of the Owu community by Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Olusanya Dosunmu, in March 2006.
Named as Towulade Akinale, Lapeleke Dynasty, Oba Ogunleye, a veteran journalist from the old Daily Times Stock, is a pic relations icon who retired from the defunct Nigeria Airways after 25 years of meritorious service as Head of Public Relations for the Airline.
Today, Oba Ogunleye is a law academic viewing award of a PhD in law.
Sons and daughters of Akinale trooped into the town from various locations in Nigeria and abroad to share the joy with their kabiyesi who honoured some of them with chieftaincy titles.
A septugenarian indigene who had lived in America for more than three decades, Chief Emmanuel Adio Adediran was honoured with Baba Oba title while a veteran journalist, foundation staff of the Village News and now in Federal Government information apparatus, Chief Wale Shobande, was installed Otun Baaroyin of Akinale.
