About four months ago,officials of the Lagos state environmental task force,carried out a clean up operation where over two thousands illegal kiosks, shanties and other structures occupied by miscreants were demolished.
Before the demolition,the miscreants who ruled day and night in the area, were a law unto themselves.
They robb,kill,main and destroy.
During the Endsars crisis,many houses and shops around the rail line gave way as the miscreants made bonfire if the properties.
The First Bank branch located along the rail line was also seriously damaged.
As we write,the bank is yet to complete the reconstruction of the branch.
A visit to the rail line by Newdawnngr.vom shows that the illegal kiosks, shanties which spread from the Fagba junction right inside the Agege Abbatoir and Lairage complex have taken over the area. Indeed,they are back in full force in terms of structures, population and the illegal activities which has returned the vicinity to it’s ‘black spot days’.
Unless,a permanent solution is found to the recurring occupation of the area,the violence and mayhem which reigned during the last Endsars crisis matt reoccur albeit with far reaching consequences.
