For the second time in less than one week,unknown gunmen have visited Imo state.
This time around their port of call was Okigwe South Police Command in Ehime Mbano LGA of Imo state.
It was gathered that five officers were killed by the gunmen when they invaded the station on Monday evening.
The attack on the police comes two days after gunmen invaded the country home of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the incident, said the armed bandits also carted away arms and released some suspects in custody.
According to him, one officer has been declared missing by the authorities.
The recent attack on the Okigwe south police command is the sixth on police facilities in the South-East this month.
