…Silent on Ijoko, Agbado, Akute projects
Ogun state governor,Dapo Abiodun has through his works commissioner,Engineer Ade Akinsanya ordered contractors back to site of abandoned flyovers in Abeokuta and asking them to complete the project s.
He however did not give the time when other abandoned flyovers and bridges in Ijoko,Agbado,Akute and Alagbole which a have been abandoned in the past two years would be revisited.
The area is strategic both for its closeness to Lagos and the huge population with it’s economic advantages for the area bustling to its seems.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya gave the hope of the Abeokuta flyovers during inspection of some ongoing construction of roads and flyovers, which included the Asphalt laying of the Kuto Flyover, Mokola Bridge, along Ajitadun-Adatan Road, as well as Panseke-Adigbe Road, among others.
Engr. Akinsanya reiterated the state government’s determination at ensuring the completion of all legacy projects in the State, to boost socio-economic activities, saying government had release funds to expedite action in executing the numerous abandoned projects.
“Let me categorically point out that the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration has released funds to ensure speedy conclusion of all abandon projects by the previous administration. It is alarming that most of these projects have been awarded since 2012 and 2013”, he said.
In his remark, the Project Manager, China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), Engr. Sewell Zhao, said release of the needed fund was timely, as it would fast track the completion of the projects, thereby relieving the stress of motorists, commuters and other road users.
In their separate remarks, some motorists, traders and other road users applauded the intervention, saying the road constructions, when fully completed would ease traffic in the State.
Meanwhile, the earthwork of the ongoing reconstruction of Idi-Aba, Elite Road–Oke-Lantoro is in appreciable stage.
The site Engr. Marc Semman gave the hint in a chat with the media, assuring that the project would be delivered in record time and would meet international standard.
