Like he did recently when he reappointed his former commissioners as commissioner nominees and all of who have been screened and cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated state house of assembly, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has yet again, reappointed some of his former commissioners and advisers, thus foreclosing the hope of fresh hands.
But do you blame him? No; after all, they say “you do not change a winning team and that a known devil is better than unknown angel.”
On that score Okowa may be pardoned for sticking to his old aides.
“If Deltans find him worthy of second term, his aides should also be found worthy of continuing in office,” a PA to one of those he reappointed but waiting swearing-in said.

Those who were with him in the first term that he has reappointed include Chinedu Ebie, a former education commissioner now Secretary to the state government (SSG), Mr. David Edevbe ex-finance commissioner now his Chief of Staff, Barrister Peter Mkrapo former attorney general, Ogbueshi Patrick Ukah, ex-information commissioner among others.
In the latest appointment the likes of Hon. Pascal Adigiwe, Comrade Mike Okeme and Mary Iyasere, a former commissioner have all been reappointed as Special Advisers.
Most surprising is that of Iyasere who has been demoted from commissioner post to that of Special Adviser.
