Following the mandate of the Central Working Committee (CWC) that the Trade Union Congress (TUC) leadership should take all necessary action to effectuate the ultimatum in collaboration with other stakeholders, the organised labour met today and resolved as follows:
Strike is hereby declared to commence from early hours of Thursday 27th of September, 2018.
The labour union has however directed its workers to down tool on Thursday.
According to a release signed by Comrade (Barr.) Musa-Lawal Ozigi, MNI, Secretary General, TUC, “All workers, civil society organisations and the masses are hereby put on notice to stock their houses for all necessary provisions.”
The directive stated further that, “State Councils are to form joint state Strike Implementation Committee comprising of TUC, NLC and other stakeholders in the state to ensure effectiveness and be alert for any further notice.”
