According to a press statement signed by Dr. Ifeanyi Ochongor, President, E-Waste Relief Foundation and made available to Newdawnngr, the outfit also aims at bringing about great relief in the effort to sanitise electronic waste in Nigeria by ensuring proper management of such wastes in Africa’s largest population.
ERF is established to support the Nigerian Government, both at national and state levels in protecting the environment from dangerous elements such as lead, mercury and other harmful materials which are constantly released into the soil and atmosphere as a result of the improper handling and disposal of electronic waste in Nigeria.
More so, to assist in providing nationwide environmental capacity building and expertise in collection, handling and environmentally friendly disposal of electronic waste, the outfit promises to reduce e-waste in Nigeria to barest minimum.
