The Police in Osogbo,the osun state capital have conformed the arrest of three suspects in the state capital for allegedly trying to buy PVC from citizens in the state capital as a prelude to Thursday re run election in the state.
The state police command in a press statement yesterday said messes Fatai Diekola,-60, Sikiru Lawal-54 and Adekilekun Segun from different areas in the state capital were arrested at Adewale street,Alekuwodo area, at one of the polling units where a re-run election is scheduled to take place on Thursday 27,September.
They were alleged to be have been caught while soliciting to buy PVCs.
The statement said d supporters of the trio attacked the residents who resisted selling their PVCs s situation it said led to the attack on them by a mob which inflicted injuries on them but were rescued by law enforcement agencies from the Force Criminal and Intelligence Department (FCID),the IGP monitoring unit as we as the Intelligence Response Team(IRT) of the Force and the osun state police command.
The police said the three arrested are already helping the police in their investigations.
However,the Force has assured the citizens of the state and other critical stakeholders of its renewed commitment and resolve to endure adequate security for a free and fair re fun election on Thursday as announced by INEC
