Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and ex-Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, says he has never seen a Nigerian president with better plans for the country than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Masari made the remark in a video published on Tuesday by HM Arewa, a Hausa-language media group, while addressing a group of women at a public function reportedly held in Kaduna.
According to him, his assessment is based on his nearly 40 years of involvement in Nigerian politics.
“Even if I were asked to swear, on my age and my political involvement for almost 40 years, I can confidently say I have never seen a president with better plans to make Nigeria great than Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I have simply never seen anyone like him,” Masari said.
He criticised those who claim that Tinubu’s administration has achieved nothing, saying similar criticisms were made against previous administrations.
Masari cited former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, saying critics accused it of sectionalism and tribalism after his first four years in office. He added that former President Goodluck Jonathan also faced similar criticism.

The former governor also criticised the use of ethnic and religious sentiments in political discussions.
He questioned why religion should be associated exclusively with particular ethnic groups, while urging women preachers to use their influence to discourage divisive rhetoric ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Each and every one of you knows how to talk to her husband or children better than anyone else can,” Masari said, urging the women to discourage what he described as divisive rhetoric.
Masari served as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and later served as Governor of Katsina State from 2015 to 2023.
