Says NBA,CSOs must rise up to defend the constitution
Former Secretary of Transparency International General Isola Williams has taken a swipe at the Presidency for delegating duties to the Secretary to Federal Government when there is no such in the nation’s constitution.
Bayo Onanuga,Special Adviser on Information to President Bola Tinubu it will be recalled said in a statement yesterday while explaining the absence of both the President and his Vice Kashim Shettima in the country, that the secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume will act for the two who are out of the country.
President Tinubu yesterday extended his three weeks working leave by some days while his Vice travelled to United Nations General Assembly to represent the President.

In his reaction,,Williams said that since the office of SGF and use of the office Coordinator is strange to the 1999 constitution,the country is running an Unorthodox governance system.
He told Newdawnngr.com, in a chat that since the SGFbis an unelected official the practise by present governmen is reminiscence of the violation by the Muhammadu Buhari regime which he said set the bad precedence of not handing over the reigns of government to elected official in his absence.
He called on the National assembly to amend the constitution to ensure that the two elected leaders cannot travel at the same time with consequences imposed if the rule is violated.
He also called on the Nigeria Bar Association and Civil Society organisations to rise in unison to reject creation of an “unelected official as Coordinator in our constitution.
