One of four African representatives at the 12th world U20 female football cup, The Twiga Stars of Tanzania slumped badly in their first ever match at the world stage on Saturday afternoon losing 1-4 to the Samba girls of Brazil in group B at the Bielsko Biala in Poland.
Sensational Evelyn Bonifacio scored a brace (two goals in a match) for Brazil getting a double assist from Nogueira in the 49th and in the 68th minute of play. Thaynara had opened the score sheet in the 14th minute for Brazil before Winfrida Gerald equalized from the spot in the 39th minute only for Vitorinha to increase it with the 4th goal to Brazil in the 82nd minute.

Brazil appearing in the tournament for the 11th time with Bronze medals in 2006 and 2022 tutored debutante Tanzania in the art of football with their precise passes stringing 435-258 passes with 64-36% ball possessions having 28-6 shots at goal in 11-2 on target. Tanzania struggled a lot committing 13-5 foul tackles that earned them the only two yellow cards in the match, they conceded 0-5 corner kicks.
