15 year old local player of Tambours FC of Benin Republic, Romaine Gandonou born 13th of November Saturday night triggered a protracted heartache for the Mexico U20 girls at Arena Katowice in Poland when she singularly wrecked her opponents to Clinch a 2-2 draw on their first attendance at the mundial.
Gondonou scored the equalizer via a neatly taken penalty kick in the 56th minute and in the 87th minute halted the famous Mexican wave in football scoring the shocking equalizer after collecting a pass from Hanfo.

Mexico thought they had the game under their wrap when Alice Soto scored the opener from a Fong Michel pass before Soto was injured. Her replacement Gonzalez in the 45+8 minute got Saldivar Montserrat to score the second goal for Mexico. That kept group A alive with the Polish fans not knowing who to support.
Benin is at the party for the first time but Mexico is in their 10th appearances making the quarterfinals four times in 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2022.
In the other Group B match also played this evening, England and Canada played 1-1 draw.
Group C and D will be on Parade tomorrow Sunday. France will play Korea in group C and Japan will tackle New Zealand both matches at 2pm. At 5pm Ghana will face Ecuador in group C and the Yankee Babes of USA will try to disconnect the Italian connection.
