…Nominations Forms and Guidelines Out.
A combo of world football governing body FIFA and the African governing body officiaks are expected in Nigeria as statutory observers to the Annual General Assembly and elections of the Nigerian Football Federation NFF in September.
The NFF Electoral Committee on Friday 31st July unveiled the roadmap to this year’s NFF Executive Committee elections scheduled to 27th September in Lafia, capital city of Nasarawa State.
The Electoral Committee said that the publication of rules and guidelines for the polls, and commencement of sale of forms will be Saturday, 1st August, with Wednesday, 12th August set as the deadline for the submission of the collected forms.
Notification to candidates of any irregularity in documents submitted to the Committee will be between 13th – 19th August, candidates’ regularisation will happen 20th – 27th August, and screening of candidates will be 27th – 30th August.
The list of cleared candidates will be published on 31st August, with disqualified candidates given between 1st and 3rd September to appeal, and determination of appeals to be done 4th – 10th September.

NFF appoints George as Super Eagles coach
The final list of cleared candidates will be made public 11th – 12th September, and the publication of delegates’ list is set for 13th September. Cleared candidates will be able to campaign from 14th – 24th September, while the deadline for submission of election petitions will be 30th September.
Patmos Media Line observed that this is the first time the electoral candidates will be few and quiet in their approach towards the election.
As at Friday 31st July night only two candidates are known to have shown intention in ruling NFF from the Glass House in Abuja namely incumbent Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Sports Admnistrator cum Entrepreneur, Segun Solanke.
It is believed that all rumours will now be laid to rest when interested candidates obtain forms for nominations. Business Mongul and owner of Remo Stars of Ogun State, Otunba Kunle Soname had refuted interest while legendary Jay Jay Okocha is muting his buttons for now.
An investigation by Patmos Media shows that the Federal Government is not interested in bringing a candidate who they always manipulate the election for but Government cronies at high level are routing for a particular candidate whose details we are keeping under serious cover until nomination forms are obtained and we know the ‘contenders and pretenders’ as we say in Sports in times like this.
Football Stake holders are not happy that Nigeria missed the male world cup and they are jittery on the chances of the Super Falcons who were beaten by minnows Malawi Scorchers in Morocco.
The 78th NFF AGM and elections held at Benin, Edo Stare on 30th September 2022 where the incumbent Malam Gusau succeeded Amaju Pinnick. He polled 21 votes; Seyi Akinwunmi polled 12 votes to be Runners up while Mallam Shehu Dikko polled 6 votes to be 2nd Runners up.
