Minister of Education,Dr Tunji Alausa has sent a query to the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Uyo, Professor Ikechukwu Dozie to suspend forthwith the appointment of 24 aides.
According to a letter sent to the VC through Ag Director in the Federal Ministry of Education,Dr Kareem O A,the minister noted that the appointment were irregular and does not follow the normal procedures in such matters.
The letter stated further that the said memorandum does not follow procedures adding that evidence of the memo withdrawing the irregular appointments should be sent to the office of the minister.(See attached copy of the letter.)
The appointments were said to have generated controversy within the university academic community.
