The Flamingoes of Nigeria (u17 female) on Saturday at Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan Ivory Coast won a dominant victory over their Guinean counterparts with 5-0 drubbing in the 1st leg of the African u17 world football cup qualifier.
Super Captain, Chidi Harmony scored a hatrick (three goals in a match) making the 1st goal in the 1st minute while fans were still clearing their tickets to gain entrance into the stadium.
She got her 2nd goal in the 12th minute and topped it up in the 39th minute; wonder girl Kemi Adegbuyi got her name on the score sheet in the 37th minute before both teams went to the locker room for half time.
Nogeria’s new Coach, Akeem Busari cried himself hoax demanding torrent of goals after Mary Dunstom got the 5th goal in the 56th minute and Ref Dorsat Ganouati of Tunisia would not allow any extra time blowing the match off to time.
Both teams would still meet at the Remo Star Stadium Shagamu that is fast becoming an abbatoir for Nigerian female teams on 31st May for the 2nd leg.
The Guinean performance was lower than their 2020 meetings with the Flamingoes as the Nigerians slashed them 6-1 on the 1st leg away on 7th March 2020 and on 14th March of 2020 beat them at home 5-1 to make 11-2 aggregate. Will Nigeria’s Flamingoes score more than six goals in Shagamu to eraze their record? It looks certain that the 2nd leg is a formality the way the Nigerian girls turned the second half in Abidjan to training session.
