Cancellation of WAEC registration: Suspected aggrieved WAEC candidates raze school

Secondary school students in Benue state have joined in the escalation of violence in Benue state as some of them have been fingered in arson inflicted on a Government Secondary School.
Affected by the arson is Government Secondly School Tse- Agberagba in Benue State.
It was razed by suspected aggrieved West African Examination Council ( WAEC) candidates in the early hours of Sunday.

Tse Agberagba is the headquarters of Konshisha local Government area in Benue north east senatorial zone.

The Nation investigations revealed that some aggrieved students whose WAEC registrations were cancelled by the school authorities for irregularities had vowed to set the school ablaze.

But it could not be determined if they eventually carried out the threat or another group was responsible for the inferno.

Records of candidates dating to as far back as 1990s were said to have been destroyed with other valuables during the incident.

The Ministry of Education or Teaching Service Board was yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this report.
