The gale of defections in the main opposition?Peoples Democratic Party,PDP has assumed a new dimension.
On Wednesday,December 24,six members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers announced their defection during a plenary session of the Assembly, formally declaring their decision to align with the APC.
Those who crossed over include Hon. Muktar Nasir Kaura, representing Kaura North; Hon. Nasiru Abdullahi Maru of Maru North; and Hon. Amiru Ahmad Keta from Tsafe West.
Others are Hon. Bashar Aliyu Gummi of Gummi I Constituency, Barrister Bashir Abubakar Masama representing Bukkuyum North, and Hon. Bashir Bello of Bungudu West.
The development is expected to further strengthen the APC’s presence in the Zamfara State legislature and reshape the political balance within the Assembly.
