Zambia had in the group games humbled Nigeria 4-1Melisa Kekia had against Zambia opened scoring in the 13th minute before Daniella Feria-Estrada brought her brace in the 30th and 90+2 minutes.
Other scorers were Mya Angus who scored the 3rd goal in the 39th minute while Chloe Tailor made it 5-0 in the 85th minute.
In the other Round of 16 matches played Wednesday night, high tech Japan routed the Coffee Growers girl of Columbia 4-0.
The Red Ones of Canada had their best tournament at Uruguay 2018where Canada placed 4th losing the Bronze medal to 1-2 to New Zealand after she lost the semifinal 0-1 to Mexico

Canada had whipped Nigeria 4-1 at the group stages. Nigeria had met Canada once at the 2012 U17 world cup in Azerbaijan where Nigeria and Canada played 1-1 in a group A match on 22nd September at Baku.
Zambia is appearing at the U17 women’s world cup finals for the first time and has never met their Canadian counterparts before.
Earlier Wednesday evening, Mexico piped Paraguay by a lone by Berenice Ibarra in the 17th minute to move to the quarters while Spain lost to France via 4-5 penalty shootouts after a goalless full time also to qualify for the quarterfinals.
