Secretary of the Ijebu Council of Chiefs and Bagbimo of Ijebuland,Chief Adetokunbo Fassy Yusuf has said that the council will soon meet to notify the Ijebu Ode local government council of the passage of the late Oba Sikiru Adetona.
He spoke in apparent reaction to the claim of Honorable Kayode Akinmade,Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information that the process of electing the successor is yet to start since the local government is yet to be informed officially of the demise of late Awujale, said that if the government want them to go through the local council before it sets the necessary machinery in motion for picking new Oba,it would be ready to do so.

According to him, “if that process is what the government want the council of Chiefs will comply.Since they are the ones in government. ”
