Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater.
According to TMZ Sports, emergency responders arrived at the scene early Thursday morning, and Hogan was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His death comes just weeks after his wife, Sky Hogan, dispelled rumors that he was in a coma, assuring fans that he was in stable condition and recovering well.
Born Terry Bollea, Hogan became one of the most recognizable figures in professional wrestling history. He rose to prominence in the 1980s as the face of WWE, captivating fans with his trademark charisma, larger-than-life personality, and signature phrases like “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”
In 1996, Hogan made a dramatic shift in his career by turning heel and leading the New World Order (NWO) under the moniker “Hollywood Hogan,” a move that redefined his image and revolutionized wrestling storytelling.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and again in 2020 as a member of the NWO. However, his career also saw controversy, including his temporary removal from the Hall of Fame in 2015 after a leaked tape surfaced containing racist remarks.
