NIMC executives with Online Publishers
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a series of high‐level partnerships with key Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) aimed at closing Nigeria’s digital identity gap and ensuring no one is left out.
Under the initiative, NIMC will integrate its National Identity Management System (NIMS) with the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system of the National Population Commission (NPC), the Know‑Your‑Customer frameworks of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and NIBSS, as well as educational and social‑welfare databases including JAMB, NELFUND and NASSCO.
These alliances are designed to streamline access to essential services, ranging from financial inclusion and healthcare to voting and immigration control, using a single, secure National Identification Number (NIN).

NIMC Head of Strategy, Dr. Alvan Ikoku, who spoke Thursday July 17 at a 2 Day Roundtable with Online Publishers emphasized that these partnerships are imperative to Nigeria’s drive toward 95 percent ID enrolment.
The Commission further called on media organizations to deepen public education on the NIN, debunk misinformation, and advocate for vulnerable groups.
