As the race as to who succeeds,former APC Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje gets hotter, dome forces in the parry leafership are said to have succeeded in pushing through the candidacy of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation ( SGF), Senator George Akume to succeed the Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the National Chairman of the party.

A source in the Presidency told Newdawnngr.com Saturday evening that the search fir the replacement has-been completed.
The source disclosed that the choice of the former Benue State governor was reached early hours of Saturday.

It was also gathered that the Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Managing Director of Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman will be appointed to take over as the new SGF.

The two appointments are expected to be made in the new week.

The choice of Akume, our reporter learnt was a deft move by the party to clam the North Central agitation for the office of the National Chairman which eluded it with the appointment of Ganduje in August 3rd 2023 after Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who hailed from the zone resigned hid position.

Our source further said that an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC will hold as soon as the President returns from his trip to Brazil.
