The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Oladotun Olakanle, has passed away at 54.
Born on February 3, 1970, in Ikeja, Lagos, Olakanle died in the early hours of Saturday.
The cause of his death remains undisclosed as of this report.
In a statement, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo LCDA, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede, expressed his profound sorrow over Olakanle’s passing, describing it as a personal loss. “He was not just a colleague but a friend, brother, and companion,” Oloyede said.
He praised Olakanle as a visionary leader dedicated to the well-being of his community. “It’s truly unfortunate that we lost Dotun today. This is a personal loss, as he was my close friend, brother, and a jovial companion committed to good governance.
His efforts to advance impactful projects in his LCDA were truly commendable. I pray God Almighty grants his soul eternal rest and comforts those he left behind,” Oloyede stated.
He concluded, “His good deeds will speak for him. Good night, my man, Dotun. May God grant your soul eternal rest. Adieu, brother.”
Oladotun Olakanle was a native of the Abejide family of Oke-Agbe, Akoko, Ondo State, and the Adeleye Ramoni Fayemi clan of Agboroko Town in the Iba LCDA of Badagry Division, Lagos State.

Olakanle’s educational journey began in Agege, Lagos, and continued at Kagoro Road Primary School in Kaduna. He later attended Community Secondary School in Egbeda, Kwara State, obtaining his WAEC in 1987.
He furthered his studies at the Institute of Basic and Applied Sciences, completing his IJMB in 1989, and later obtained a B.Sc. in Sociology and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from Lagos State University.
