Social media influencer and political commentator, Reno Omokri, has shared a provocative message to Nigerians ahead of the country’s Independence Day. In a lengthy statement, Omokri warned citizens against protesting without understanding the root cause of Nigeria’s challenges, emphasizing that the nation’s biggest issue is not corruption, tribalism, or inflation, but a sense of entitlement.

Omokri argued that Nigerians often expect the government to provide services and infrastructure that other nations rely on the private sector to supply.
Drawing comparisons with countries like the United States, Germany, and the UK, he pointed out that governments in these nations do not own airports, hospitals, or schools, and yet their citizens pay far higher taxes than Nigerians.

He highlighted the disparity between Nigeria’s large population and the relatively low revenue from oil, especially when compared to smaller oil-rich nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Omokri called for increased productivity and less dependency on the government, warning that continued reliance on borrowing or printing money would only worsen inflation.

In his closing remarks, Omokri urged Nigerians to reconsider their demands, stressing that protests and riots cannot change economic realities and will only fuel further instability. According to him, the solution lies in shifting expectations and taking personal responsibility for the country’s future.
