President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his commitment to ensure the success of Dangote Refinery and other similar projects in the country.
Tunde Rahman ,Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media gave this assurance at an interactive session with Senior journalists in Lagos weekend.
He expressed determination of the government to ensure constant supply of crude which he said will significantly ease the pains of Nigerians.
According to him,the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, has been mandated to supply seven cargoes of crude oil by October in addition to the thirty million litres already supplied to ease production.
Rahman,who spoke in the company of Tope Ajayi,another media aide said that local production of Petroleum motor spirit and other products will reduce demand on Forex by over forty percent adding this will boost the strength of the naira against other major currencies and consequently have desired impact on the economy.
He said further that President Tinubus has given the NNPCL till end of September to complete the Port Harcourt Refinery and petrochemical complex..
“President Tinubus has told NNPCL that he is not ready to entertain any excuse or story again as to the completion of the refinery ” he disclosed.
On the prevailing price of petroleum motor spirit, PMS said that the pump price of N897 for now is temporary and still the cheapest in sub- saharan africa.
In answer to a question he said that as an International concern Dangote or any other business can source its raw materials from anywhere in the world to meet its obbligations.
