The Redeemed Christian Church of God,RCCG,has described as false and misleading claims by one Blogger and artist, Adams Kehinde aka Lege Miami, that the mission is exploiting its members and Pastors children by charging unaffordable exorbitant fees in it’s schools established with offerings and Tithes.
In a video clip that has gone viral, Lege claimed that the Church has been charging high fees in schools established by the mission with Tithes and Offering collected from members.
In the said video, Lege claimed that members have cried out over the high fees being paid at the schools.
According to the actor,” the exorbitant fees were not affordable for RCCG church members, a comment which has triggered mixed reactions from the public”
The artist who claims to have spoken with some members said members whose identity he did not disclose,could not afford the fees of schools built with their tithe.
But in a chat with Newdawnngr.com, a senior Pastor who choose to remain anonymous debunk such claims.
According to him,Miami’s claims were
“An ill-informed comment by someone who knew little or nothing about what he commented on.”
He explained that as someone who is sufficiently familiar with RCCG’s school system such claims are not true.
He made the following clarifications:
1. The schools were not established with tithes or offering of members as erroneously claimed by him,the Bible is very clear on what tithes and offerings are meant for.
2. RCCG schools are relatively cheaper than most private schools of similar standards around.
According to him,”The Blogger should do a comparative study and be bold to report his findings.”
He explained further that contrary to claims;
I. RCCG operates a number of scholarships and discounts on fees in its schools for members’ children.
ii. Every standard school must have up to date facilities and well-remunerated staff.
He explained that the above policy and standard obtained in RCCG schools as stated above,”is not possible without fees” .
Said he,”I am a parent, and I have children who had gone through the RCCG High School and the Redeemer’s University, so I speak with facts .”
