For the 1983/88 set of Accountancy Students of the prestigious Yaba College of Technology,(YabaTech),it was a day to remember as they gather for a one-day ReUnion Saturday November 11,2023.
The Re-Union get – together luncheon held inside the institutions event Hall was a Great day to remember.
For Class mates and friends shot have not seen for over three decades, it was a nostalgic feelings.
Such feelings normally exhibited when class/course-mates get together to relive the old days and throw banters, just like it used to be some 35+ years plus during their time together in school.

The event kicked off with an opening prayer by Pastor Soji Aluko and followed with self – introduction – full names and nicknames to bring back memories of the old days.

It was indeed hilarious when the old nicknames were brought back to life with loud ovations from the group of “back-benchers” / “progressives ” as they were called in school back then .

Bunmi Lawson,Immediate Past President was there

This was followed by the welcome address by the President , Harold Nwana who gave due recognition to the past exco, led by the immediate past president, Bunmi Lawson for the good job done during their tenure, he also confirmed the commitment of the present exco to serve the association with expected dedication aimed at fostering and advancing the course of the alumni.

With due consideration of the interests of the members and the fact that majority are in or near their retirement age, the need to pay closer attention to the health of members and their families cannot be over-emphasized.

In pursuant of ensuring the well -being of alumni, special talks were given on Health Insurance by representatives of three leading HMO organisations for the benefit of members by AXA , Hallmark and AIICO.

The re-union dance event was ably anchored by the duo of Patrick Avoseh and Akin Beckley and they did not disappoint in doing justice to this session as members relived their old swags and vibes as they dance to old / new school music dished out by the cool and composed “DJ Genesis”.

It was obviously an evening to remember and also look forward to in the near future as members enjoyed every bit of time spent together as assorted drinks and food overflowed at the event.

It is worthy to appreciate the sacrifice and contributions of all and sundry, especially the planning committee which include the excos (past and present) as well as members that managed or organized one aspect of the event or the other.

Special thanks to the listed alumni for their support and contributions in ensuring the success of this year’s reunion
