Professor Mejai Avoseh
For Mejai B.M Avoseh,the journey he embarked upon when he travelled out of the country in search of knowledge three decades ago is worth the while.
In those three decades, the education scholar has contributed significantly to the development of education in the United States of America such that as he clocks 70 today,it was a story of accomplishments.

Avoseh, Ph.D, is professor of Adult and Higher Education, University of South Dakota.
Over the years of his education pursuits,he has researched and taught adult education in Nigeria, Namibia, and the United States. He has done significant work on indigenous epistemology in Adult Learning and Education as well as in citizenship education. He was a subject-matter expert member of the U.S. Delegation to CONFINTEA VII (non-voting).
He was also Director of the Commission for International Adult Education (CIAE) and Board Member of the American Association for Adult & Continuing Education (AAACE). Mejai is recipient of the 2019 AAACE Outstanding Service Medallion.
He also capped his bag of laurels as double recipient of the Fulbright Award for U.S. Scholars and a member of the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame.
His teaching and research interests are in the areas of adult education, comparative/international/multi-cultural education and indigenous pedagogy.
He is a member of the board of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) since 2016, and of the International Society for Comparative Adult Education (ISCAE) from 2020 to 2023, and the director of the Commission for International Adult Education (CIAE) of AAACE.[2][3].

Though far away from home in Nigeria,Mejai has maintained his strong family links which he intends to extend to larger society if beckoned upon in order to avail his country the opportunity of his wealth of experience in education.
