NLC protest:Tinubu, labour leaders meet

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with leaders of labour unions in the State House, Abuja over the nationwide protests as a result of subsidy removal.

The Organised Labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), embarked on protests across the country on Wednesday over the removal of petrol subsidy without adequate palliative measures.

The protests, initiated by NLC and TUC, raised concerns about the impact on citizens’ cost of living, especially the vulnerable.

President Bola Tinubu had on May 29 during his inaugural speech removed fuel subsidy.

The decision which has resulted to more hardships on the good people of the country as the cost of living gone up with over 100%.
