The newly appointed Spokesperson/Press Secretary of the Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed combined four major credentials as a tested media practitioner, experienced public office holder, a business policy analyst and an old political actor within and outside Osun state.

A publisher, prolific writer, newsman, business chamber actor and a railway consultant, the new spokesperson spent close to two decades with the Tribune newspapers. He held key editorial positions as Abuja Bureau Chief, Group Politics Editor, Deputy Editor/Regional Editor, North before his sojourn into government service.

He is a 1990 BA-Ed-English Language and 1993 Master in Public Administration graduate of the University of Ilorin. While serving as a politics editor for Tribune, he was appointed Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sport in 2007 where he served till 2011. From 2013 to 2015, he also served as the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of State for Power.
A publisher of Sahel Standard and Railway Business Magazine, Rasheed is a member of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) and until his appointment, the CEO of African Railway Consulting Limited and Executive Director of the National Chamber Policy Centre based in Abuja since 2018.
A widely quoted public affairs analyst on politics, public policies and terrorism, Rasheed was the youngest director of publicity for Osun State PDP governorship campaign in 1999 with political participation dating back to the SDP days.
