The gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP), Dr. Alex Otti, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika (rtd), in his country home in Elu-Obayi, Ovim, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.

Gen Ihejirika, the first Igbo to lead the Nigerian Army, had recently lost a very close cousin and confidant, Chief Maduka Onyeabor.
Dr. Otti offered his commiserations and on behalf of the LP presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and the national and state leaderships of Labour Party, to the former army chief.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed, while urging Gen Ihejirika to take solace in the fact that his cousin lived a life worthy of emulation.
Gen Ihejirika thanked Dr. Otti, who was accompanied on the visit by Mr. Ken Ahia, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Abia Labour Party House of Reps candidate for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Amobi Ogah and some other LP chieftains in Abia, for finding time in his busy schedule to commiserate with him and his family.
He prayed for God’s protection for Otti and his entourage as they go about their campaigns, while offering his continued support for the Labour Party governorship candidate who he described as his very dear friend.
