There is no doubt that Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state has a can do spirit. This is reflected in the way he has pursued abandoned projects left by his predecessor.

But one project which has received much criticism is the Ogun Cargo Airport which today after abandonment for over ten years, has just four months away from it’s Demonstration flight and Test run.
Not only this, the airport which Runway, Control Tower is at it’s completion stage will now perform two functions besides it’s plan.
For citizens of Ogun state who owns private jets, they can safely fly in from anywhere, park inside the Apron and move into the hinterland. This is what Abiodun has done eight months ago when he moved Cranebarge Construction company into the site located along Ilisan -Iperu road.
Ade Akinsanya, the state Works commissioner who conducted senior Editors round various projects in the state is optimistic that the first Demonstration flight /Test Run on the new airport will take place in December this year.
He said that the much criticised project is just but one of several others which the state is optimistic will receive a fresh breath of life.
It will be recalled that the project was first initiated by a former Governor,Gbenga Daniel over ten years ago but which did not go beyond clearing of site before he left office.
With abandonment for eight years,Akinsanya is cock sure that Ogun state will join the growing list of state owned airports in the country to meet the varying needs of the Gateway state.
