Osun decides:PDP claims victory
Apart from anger after losing the bid for the ticket of the party in next year’s presidential election, Wike, has continued to beef with the former Vice President, for snubbing him for the choice of a running mate, a situation said to have left a big hollow in the party unity for the election.

But, Walid Jubrin, Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT), said on Monday that the party’s highest organ, was now poised to nip the entire matter to the bud.

Specifically, he said the BOT would first meet as a body to set up the template for meeting with Wike, aggrieved party members as well as all the presidential aspirants for reconciliation meeting, even though he stressed that there was no problem in the party.

Insisting that contrary to speculations in some quarters, the supposed crisis was not out of control, he said the BOT meeting would take place on Wednesday, adding that it was distressing that the choice of Atiku Abubakar and the appointment of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as as the running mate was “unnecessary causing confusion among some PDP members.”.

He said in a statement, in Kaduna: “The BoT, the highest advisory body and the conscious of the party is meeting on Wednesday 3rd August to discuss the issues accordingly by coming up with strong recommendations with the special committee for the special reconciliation of aggrieved members, especially Governor Wike.

“After the BoT meeting, we will meet with Wike and all aggrieved members and all past presidential aspirants. It is my prayers as Chairman of BoT that the PDP will remain strongest and win all elections in 2023.

“I notice with great concern what the PDP primary elections of Atiku Abubakar and the appointment of Chief Okowa as President and Vice President is unnecessary causing confusion among some PDP members.

“May I point out that very strongly that there is no any problem as being envisaged by some people in our great party the PDP. I want to assure everyone as being envisaged by some people in our great party the PDP.”
